Terms of Service

CSV Encoding Importer — a Google Sheets™ add-on
Effective date: July 3, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using CSV Encoding Importer (the "Add-on"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not install or use the Add-on. The Add-on is developed and operated by Minseong Kim (the "Developer").

2. Description of the Service

The Add-on provides the following features inside Google Sheets:

• CSV import with automatic character-encoding detection (UTF-8/UTF-16, EUC-KR, Shift_JIS, GB18030, Big5, and other legacy encodings), delimiter detection, and preview.
• CSV export of the current sheet in an encoding and delimiter of your choice.

The Add-on is provided free of charge. All file processing takes place in your browser and your Google account; see the Privacy Policy for details.

3. Use of the Service

You agree to:

• use the Add-on in compliance with applicable laws and with Google's terms, including the Google Terms of Service and the Google Workspace Marketplace terms;
• use the Add-on only with spreadsheets and files you have the right to access and modify;
• not attempt to disrupt, abuse, or misuse the Add-on or Google's services through it.

4. Your Data and Responsibility

You retain all rights to your spreadsheets and files. The Add-on modifies spreadsheet contents only as you instruct it to (importing rows you selected, exporting the sheet you opened it on).

Please note the following inherent characteristics of character-encoding conversion, which you accept by using the Add-on:

• Automatic encoding detection is statistical and may occasionally require you to select the correct encoding manually. A preview is provided so you can verify the result before importing.
• When exporting to a legacy encoding, characters that cannot be represented in the target encoding (for example, emoji in EUC-KR) are replaced with ?, and the Add-on informs you how many characters were replaced.
• You are responsible for verifying that imported or exported data meets your needs, and for keeping backups of important data.

5. Intellectual Property

The Add-on, including its code and design, remains the property of the Developer. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the Add-on other than the right to use it as intended.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE ADD-ON IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE ADD-ON WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE ADD-ON.

8. Third-Party Services

The Add-on runs on Google Sheets and Google Apps Script, which are services of Google LLC and are governed by Google's own terms and policies. The Add-on is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google. The Developer is not responsible for the availability or behavior of Google's services.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Add-on at any time by uninstalling it. The Developer may suspend or discontinue the Add-on, in whole or in part, at any time. Sections 5–8 survive termination.

10. Changes to These Terms

The Developer may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted at this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Add-on after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
